Bård started his career in 1992 when he joined Arvid Bergvall AS, a boutique privately run broking house in Oslo. Whilst working and during his first few years he graduated as a Small Average Adjuster on the Norwegian Marine Insurance Plan of 1964. In 1994 Arvid Bergvall was purchased by Sedgwick and eventually Marsh where Bård spent 10 years working out of the Oslo office. Bård then worked on secondment to Marsh in New York for a year before joining Marsh London. In 2008 Bård joined Polarcus in Dubai, to act as the head of insurance. His position included treasury, fuel purchases & currency trading.

In 2010 he joined Willis setting up their UK marine branch office in Dubai before taking up the position as Divisional Director in Dubai with Arthur J Gallagher in 2015. Throughout his career, Bård has been actively involved in handling claims. Cases have included severe groundings, explosions, constructive total losses and major PA and GA losses. Bård takes an active role with the many direct clients Gallagher works with in the region with support from our excellent London claims team.
